Zaha Hadid (Baghdad, Iraq, October 31, 1950 – March 31, 2016). After obtaining a master’s degree in mathematics at the American University of Beirut (1971) she began her architecture studies at the Architectural Association of London where she graduates in 1977.

Commissioned by Pope Paul VI and designed by Pier Luigi Nervi in Rome in 1971. The building surfaces are made of a special white concrete resulting from research projects at the Italcementi’s laboratories.

Pier Luigi Nervi (Sondrio, June 21, 1891 – Rome, 9 January 1979). The collaboration with Italcementi in the study of cement-based materials contributed to the construction of works like the Paul VI Audience Hall (Rome) and the Pirelli skyscraper (Milan).
